Our volunteers play a crucial role in the charity and what we can achieve. Whether you are looking to give something back to the community, learn new skills or meet new people, we offer two types of flexible volunteering opportunities:
Our Charity Services Visitors are the face of the charity. They visit our existing beneficiaries and new applicants. They offer a friendly ear whilst assessing the applicants’ personal circumstances to see how the charity can help. As a charity services visitor, you will be allocated to a designated area of the country around where you live so a car is essential. Each visit takes approximately 2 hours. The number of visits vary each month but would be no more than 4 or 5. Visits take place in beneficiaries’ homes within an agreed distance from the volunteer location.

Our Volunteer Telephone Befrienders help reduce social isolation and the feeling of loneliness in the elderly by making regular phone calls. If you are a friendly and sociable person with half an hour a week you can commit to regularly, this could be the perfect role for you. If you would like to become one of our volunteers, fill in the online application for the role you are interested in by clicking on the links below. We’ve tried to keep it as short as possible. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to complete. As you will be working with vulnerable adults we also need to make additional checks to ensure your and their safety so we'll need to know about your criminal record.
