In a year marked by continued economic pressure and rising personal challenges across hospitality, LTC supported approximately 45,000 people with practical advice, financial assistance and health and wellbeing support. This represents a 12.5% increase on 2024, reflecting both growing need and increased awareness of the charity’s services.

More than 6,000 calls were made to LTC’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline during the year, underlining the importance of accessible, sector-specific support.

Faster Access to Counselling in Hospitality

Mental health remains a key focus. While NHS counselling waiting times can reach up to 126 days, LTC matched individuals from the licensed hospitality community to a qualified counsellor in an average of just one day in 2025. That speed of response can be critical, offering early intervention before issues escalate.

Alongside its helpline and counselling services, LTC continues to provide critical incident support, management guidance and access to specialist services for individuals, couples and young people working in or formerly employed by the sector.

£1.8 Million in Financial Grants and Services

Financial pressure remains one of the most common challenges facing hospitality workers. In 2025, LTC awarded over £1.8 million in grants and services to individuals and families experiencing hardship, a 20% increase on the previous year.

These grants provided a vital safety net for those facing sudden loss of income, unexpected bills or ongoing financial instability.

Patrick, a former hospitality worker, shared:

“I was immediately assigned a Case Worker who listened to my situation and helped me secure a grant that would pay off my debts. They helped me through a difficult time in my life, providing plenty of practical advice and emotional support.

“The team at LTC are fantastic. You couldn’t wish for better support when you’re in that situation. Their help has given me a new perspective on life again.”

Expanding Wellbeing Support for Hospitality

In 2025, LTC also strengthened its preventative and developmental offer across the sector. This included the launch of its Wellbeing Platform, featuring over 6,500 resources tailored specifically to licensed hospitality, from financial guidance and mental health support to leadership development.

The charity hosted its inaugural LTC Wellbeing Conference, bringing together industry leaders to share practical tools and evidence-based insights. It also refreshed its Employee Assistance Programme in partnership with CiC and announced a strategic collaboration with the British Institute of Innkeeping to extend support to more pub teams nationwide.

Reflecting on the year, CEO Chris Welham said the results demonstrate both the scale of need and the commitment of LTC’s teams, volunteers and partners.
