January can be a challenging month for those working in the licensed hospitality community. Financial pressures often peak after Christmas, workloads can be unpredictable, and wellbeing can take a knock during the quieter winter period. That’s why initiatives like Thou Shalt Go To The Pub play such an important role, not just in encouraging people back into pubs, but in shining a light on the people who keep them running.
As part of the campaign, Lucky Saint is giving away 100,000 free pints across more than 1,000 participating pubs nationwide, encouraging people to meet up, support their local and enjoy the social side of pub-going, whether they’re drinking alcohol-free or not. New for this year, Lucky Saint is also supporting Licensed Trade Charity with a donation to help fund practical, emotional and financial support for hospitality workers who need it most, of which we are extremely grateful.
Support like this helps ensure more people in the licensed hospitality community can access our services when they need them, whether that’s confidential emotional support, practical advice, or financial assistance during a period of hardship. It’s a timely reminder that behind every pub door are real people, and that supporting pubs also means supporting the teams within them.
The campaign also highlights the evolving role of pubs as inclusive, welcoming spaces for everyone, regardless of what they choose to drink. By championing alcohol-free options alongside traditional pints, Lucky Saint continues to promote a more inclusive pub culture that keeps people social and connected all year round.
You can find out more about the campaign, including how to claim a free pint and locate participating pubs, via the campaign page here. And if you work, or have previously worked, in licensed hospitality and need support, the Licensed Trade Charity is here for you, whenever you need us.
