Financial Grants for Licensed Hospitality Workers: Support When You Need It Most

Financial pressure can affect anyone. Rising living costs, unexpected bills or time off due to illness can quickly create strain. For those working, or who have worked, in licensed hospitality, LTC offers non-repayable financial grants to help ease short-term hardship and provide practical support when it’s needed most.

What can LTC Financial Grants help with?

LTC’s hardship grants focus on personal financial difficulty and are assessed individually to ensure support is practical and tailored. Financial support may include:

Essential Living Costs

Help with rent or council tax arrears, unexpected bills and household essentials.

Family and Education Expenses

Support towards school uniforms, school trips and additional educational costs.

Health-Related Costs

Assistance with hospital travel costs or mobility equipment.

Moving and Housing Costs

Help with rental deposits and essential moving expenses.

Short-Term Financial Support

Additional help where illness or mental health challenges make day-to-day living more difficult.

All grants are one-off or short-term, do not need to be repaid and will not affect your benefit entitlement.

Who Can Apply for an LTC Financial Grant?

You may be eligible if:

  • You (or an immediate family member living in your household) have worked in the licensed hospitality trade for five continuous years or more
  • Your role was in a licensed hospitality setting where serving alcohol was central to the job
  • You are currently experiencing financial hardship and meet LTC’s means-testing criteria

As part of the application process, you will be asked to confirm your employment history. This is usually done via an HMRC consent form or by providing your employment record through HMRC’s self-service system. Guidance is provided throughout, so you’re supported at every step.

What LTC Grants Cannot Cover

LTC financial grants are for personal hardship only.

They cannot be used for:

  • Business-related costs, including setting up, running or closing a business
  • Business loans, overdrafts or commercial debt
  • Purchases that have already been made

If you’re unsure whether your situation qualifies as personal hardship, LTC’s team can discuss this with you confidentially.

How to Apply for a Hospitality Hardship Grant

Applications can be made by calling LTC’s free and confidential helpline, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, on:

0808 801 0550

If you work in licensed hospitality and are facing financial difficulty, support is available. A short-term grant could help relieve immediate pressure and provide the stability you need to focus on what matters most.
