Critical Incident Support

The Licensed Trade Charity are working in partnership with Care First to provide guidance, advice and support for those who have experienced the trauma of a critical incident in the workplace.

Critical incidents range from flood or fire, to violence, abuse or a death in the workplace – all with far reaching impact. Our emergency support aims to minimise the level of disruption that an incident may have on your organisation and your staff. We understand that each incident is unique and is therefore project managed accordingly in close consultation with the organisation involved. We assist in the immediate aftermath of the incident and provide ongoing support as required.

We have created the below guide to help managers to recognise the way in which their teams might be dealing with the trauma – identifying and supporting their emotions. Another guide for team members is available to help individuals understand how the critical incident might impact their mental wellbeing and provide some coping mechanisms for these feelings so they can work on coming to terms with the incident and moving forwards.
