Anchor is England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for the over-55s, with almost 50 years of experience in providing retirement accommodation and care homes at over 1,000 locations across the country. It has won many awards for it’s pioneering work, including dementia care, their Denham Garden Village retirement homes, and the catering in their care homes.
In 2001, the Licensed Trade Charity partnered with Anchor, so when people who work(ed) in the industry call us we have a priority scheme in place. This allows us to support people who come to us for help with a secure, affordable home if their pub goes into administration and they are forced to close.
The rented accommodation, typically either bungalows or flats, is overseen by a manager, and has access to a 24-hour emergency call system. Anchor also provides a number of extra-care properties, which provide a balance of care between the standard retirement property and a care home.
“Working for Anchor is a great way for me to build new relationships with the over 55s in our care. It’s a very rewarding job.”
Amanda Cox, Scheme Manager of Anchor
