becoming a trustee
What we require
From time to time the Charity seeks applications for Trustees from the range of occupations within the trade, including pubs, breweries, clubs and other suppliers of alcohol. We need Trustees who can assume specific responsibilities in the areas of Fundraising and Support & Care provision in addition to the fundamental Trustee role.
Fundraising
To contribute to this area, Trustees must have a broad understanding of the trade and good relationships within it. We are always seeking to develop new ways of gaining support from individuals and organisations within the trade.
Support and Care
The Charity’s aim is to provide support when needed. Recently we have provided help on-line with information booklets on common issues facing people in the industry. The challenge is to anticipate the problems or areas of need so that we can be ready to respond. The Support and Care Committee, headed by a Trustee, rises to this challenge and assesses all applications for assistance.
Process for Appointment
- The successful candidates will be committed to the values and work of the Licensed Trade Charity and be empathetic to the issues faced by those applying for help
- They will need the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people plus negotiation and influencing skills are essential qualities
- The posts are unremunerated although expenses incurred on LTC work will be reimbursed
- Although our work is of a serious nature, helping those in need, there is fun to be had here and rewards beyond financial remuneration
