our schools
The Licensed Trade Charity has a long history in running schools. We achieved Royal Chartered status in 1836 and are proud and privileged to have Her Majesty The Queen as our patron.
Who can attend our schools
Although originally established specifically for children of people working in the licensed drinks trade, the schools are now open to the general public. Every year, a thousand pupils, from all sections of the community benefit from the first-class education they offer. An important aspect of our work still involves offering preferential assistance to help parents in the trade meet the costs of providing an excellent education. To do this, we offer substantial discounts on fees and bursaries for those in the trade.
