Children and staff welcome the bikers to LVS Hassocks

A group of nine motorbike riders organised by the BII raced up the motorway to raise funds for LVS Hassocks, a school for pupils with Aspergers’ and Autism, run by the Licensed Trade Charity.

The fun idea, created by Neil Robertson, involved a 60 mile ride from LVS Hassocks school in Sayers Common, up to the charity’s other school in Ascot.  Both schools support children of parents who work in the licensed drinks trade.

The school, formerly a nun’s priory, has been converted to a school and needs further adaptation.  Over £3500 was raised through the fundraiser which will be used to help develop a bespoke training kitchen, where pupils can train for potential employment in the hospitality industry.

Neil Robertson, Chief Executive of the BII said “We were very pleased with the generosity shown for such a great school and it was a fantastic way to raise the money”.

Tilda Lawrence, a student at the school said "I liked it a lot. I really like the motorbikes, although one of them was very loud!"
